About me

I’m Misha Verollet-Dahncke, founder and editor of Unmodern Football.

A life-long football fan, I’ve been a passionate supporter of Arminia Bielefeld since my early teens, as well as season ticket-holder until I moved away in 2010. I was born in Gibraltar (UK), but grew up in Bielefeld after my family moved to West Germany in 1985.

I’ve been writing for a living in different capacities since 2005. Starting as a professional touring artist on the German-language Poetry Slam circuit, I have several published books under my belt, including a national bestseller.

I’ve written for online publications like VICE, Amy & Pink, and others. I also did a short stint as foreign correspondent for the blog of Arminia Bielefeld (last one here, scroll down for overview) and wrote for the Arminia Supporters Club magazine (for example, check out my interview with the legend Uli Zwetz here).

Other experience includes blogging, copywriting, script doctoring and game writing.

I currently work as Creative Strategist for an ad agency.

Unmodern Football is my weekly magazine project, where I merge two of my passions: Football and Writing.
